KUWAIT CITY, Dec 18: The General Directorate of Nationality and Travel Documents at Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has announced a temporary exemption from legal penalties for individuals who voluntarily report illegal or irregular additions to their own nationality records or those of their family members, provided such disclosures are made before the end of the current year.

In an official statement, the Directorate said the decision reflects the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing commitment to strengthening transparency, correcting legal irregularities, and ensuring the accuracy of nationality files in accordance with Kuwaiti law. The initiative aims to give concerned individuals a fair opportunity to regularize their legal status without facing punitive measures, as long as they come forward within the specified grace period.

The Directorate explained that the exemption is designed to encourage proactive cooperation and voluntary disclosure, thereby helping authorities safeguard rights, maintain the integrity of nationality procedures, and ensure the proper application of the law within approved legal frameworks.
