NON-DEGREE EXPATS EARNING KD 800 CAN SPONSOR FAMILIES

KUWAIT CITY, July 27: First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousuf Al-Sabah has issued a resolution on amending some provisions of Article 29 of Ministerial Resolution No. 957/2019.

This article stipulates the executive regulations of the Expatriates Residency Law, specifically on allowing an expatriate who has no university degree to bring his wife and children to the country under the family visa provided his salary in the work permit is not less than KD800.

Article One of the resolution states that Article 29 of Ministerial Resolution No. 957/2019 shall be amended as follows:

To obtain a regular family visa for expatriates, the applicant’s monthly salary must not be less than KD800 based on the work permit.

On granting a regular family visa to those present or born inside the country, and those born outside the country — who are not more than five years old — to parents residing in Kuwait.
The director general of the Residency Affairs General Department at the Interior Ministry shall be responsible for exempting them from the salary requirement referred to in the first paragraph of this article by the regulations and conditions specified by the Residency Affairs General Department.

Article Two stipulates that the undersecretary of the ministry (in charge) shall implement the decision, which shall be effective from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. The residency affairs departments in the governorates have started receiving the family visa applications of expatriates who do not hold a university degree with a salary of not less than KD800
