Reports said that 231 citizenship files are being scrutinized by the Supreme Committee for Citizenship. They’re intensifying efforts to detect forgeries and clean the record.
The committee has revoked over 211 nationalities between March 4 and 18, and efforts are ongoing to uncover counterfeiters and instances of fraud in nationality acquisition.
The Supreme Committee for Nationality Investigation has made multiple rulings revoking the Kuwaiti citizenship of 30 individuals who acquired it through establishment and naturalization, including three women from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and the UAE.

The decisions were made ‘after reviewing Article 1 of Emiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 regarding the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and the amendments to it.’

According to a government source cited in today’s issue of Al-Qabas newspaper, ‘231 citizenship files are under examination and scrutiny.’ The source emphasized that the Supreme Committee for Citizenship is actively pursuing several strategies to assess these files and receive reports about forgeries and duplications. This is part of the state’s plan to cleanse this record from any tampering.
