A batch of 289 nationals have arrived in Manila from Kuwait, the Philippine government said. The plane carrying the deportees landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 7pm on Tuesday. The Philippine Ministry of Foreign Affairs said this is the eighth deportation operation coordinated by Undersecretary Eduardo Jose de Vega, who looks after the affairs of OFWs.

Most of the violators are believed to be runaway employees who have left their employers for various reasons. The offenders were deported within the framework of the humanitarian amnesty scheme agreed between the two countries. According to an official statement issued by the Ministry of Migrant Employment, most of the deportees are included 3 pregnant women, 3 sick people, 5 mothers and their children.
