Kuwait moved up two spots in the 35th edition of GFCI 2024, from 82nd to 80th globally out of 121 financial centers.
Dubai leads at 20th globally in 35th GFCI edition; Abu Dhabi at 37th, Bahrain at 76th
Kuwait advanced two places in the 35th edition of the Global Financial Centers Index (GFCI) for the year 2024, issued by the consulting company Z/Yen Group, moving from 82nd place in the 34th edition to 80th place globally out of 121 financial centers.

In the Gulf region, Kuwait ranked fourth, with Dubai leading at 20th globally, followed by Abu Dhabi at 37th globally, and Bahrain at 76th globally. Kuwait followed at 80th globally, with Riyadh at 84th globally, and Doha at 88th globally.

On the other hand, Kuwait has advanced 13 places in financial technology services (Fintech), moving from 86th to 73rd globally out of 116 financial centers.

At the level of the best global financial centers, New York has easily maintained its position as the top financial center in the world, strengthening its standing over the past six years after surpassing London, which now holds second place, followed by Singapore in third place.

Hong Kong maintains its fourth-place ranking, followed by San Francisco, due to its significant role in technology financing.

The survey categorizes 121 financial centers based on 48,365 evaluations from 8,494 financial professionals, along with quantitative data from institutions such as the World Bank, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the United Nations, and others.

In the field of financial technology (Fintech), New York maintains its leading position, followed by London, and then San Francisco. Additionally, Shenzhen remains in fourth place, while Washington, DC, has advanced to fifth place, surpassing Singapore.
