People around the world especially women like to invest in gold because it is always a precious metal.


According to the South Asian country's customs rules, a non-resident Indian (NRI) can carry 205 KD (50,000 INR) worth of gold, while the limit for women passengers is 410 KD (1,00,000 INR). The traveler must reside in Kuwait for more than one year. Gold jewelery carried above this limit is subject to customs duty.

Around 825000 Indian nationals live in Kuwait and most of them prefer to buy gold jewelery from there as it is tax free. A large number of tourists from India buy gold jewelery during their visit to Kuwait.

India, one of the world's largest markets for gold, has announced mandatory hallmarking of precious metal jewelery and accessories to make India a global gold hub.

Malabar Group Chairman Ahmed said that New Delhi's decision to hallmark gold jewelery is aimed at protecting the public from adulteration. It would oblige manufacturers and retailers to maintain legal standards of fineness and purity.
