KUWAIT CITY, Jan 24: In a recent announcement, the Ministry of Education has disclosed its staffing needs for the upcoming academic year 2024-2025, encompassing 1,601 educators to be appointed in government schools across diverse educational regions, catering to both Kuwaiti and non-Kuwaiti individuals.

Official data, scrutinized by Al-Rai, reveals that the Ministry is seeking 699 teachers specializing in 15 different fields, along with an additional 902 female teachers specializing in Arabic, English, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and computers.

Emphasizing that these figures exclusively represent the requirements for the 2024-2025 academic year, the Ministry clarified that the statistics are subject to continuous updates based on actual data received, taking into account fluctuations in workforce needs.

While reiterating its unwavering commitment to recruiting recent graduates from Colleges of Education and Basic Education, especially those who completed their degrees within the past calendar year, the Ministry underscored a preference hierarchy for appointment. Kuwaiti nationals will be given top priority, followed by the children of Kuwaiti women, individuals of unspecified nationality, Gulf nationals, and, lastly, expatriates. Sources inform Al-Rai that the official announcement for the commencement of local hiring is scheduled after the resumption of employment in government agencies.

In outlining the application process, the Ministry stressed the importance of adhering to experience requirements. Applicants with non-educational qualifications must demonstrate three years of experience, while those with educational qualifications should have a minimum of two years of experience. However, the Ministry has exempted five categories from the experience prerequisite:

Children of Kuwaiti women of unspecified nationality.
Holders of doctorate degrees with a grade not less than very good in their university qualifications.
Holders of master’s degrees with a grade of no less than distinction in their university qualification.
Graduates of the College of Education from Kuwait University and Basic Education in “Applied” from within Kuwait.
Graduates of all other government colleges in the State of Kuwait.
