Indian Embassy in Kuwait issues an advisory for all Indian Nursing Staff in Kuwait. According to the advisory, Indian Embassy advices that all nursing / medical staff in Kuwait must insist for a written contract attested by Kuwait Ministry of Health (MoH) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA). Attestation by Embassy of India is also desirable to safeguard your interests, the advisory added.

It also suggest the nursing staff to keep an English translated copy of the Contract in your possession.
Advisory also specify the below points:

- Expatriates employed on Visa-18 should perform duties only as per the job designation in their Civil IDs / Contracts. If you are forced to do any other job, please lodge a complaint with the Public Authority of Manpower (PAM).

- Ensure that the Hospital/Clinic has valid MoH License and MoH/PAM Quota for Nursing Staff.

- A valid Nursing License issued by Kuwait MoH is mandatory for employment in any Nursing job in Kuwait (including as Assistant Nurses etc.). Accepting a Nursing related job without this License may invite penal action from Kuwaiti authorities.

- Perform duties pertaining to your profession only. If Employer/Hospital/Clinic forces you to perform any other duties not authorized as per your profession, please lodge a complaint with the Public Authority of Manpower (PAM). You may also contact the Embassy' Whatsapp Helpline (+965-65501769).

The Embassy published the advisory on the Indian Embassy social media platforms today.

It is to be noted that a group of 34 Indian nurses were released on Wednesday by the Kuwaiti authorities after they were detained by around 3 weeks even though they all have valid residency and is working legally under the same clinic visa. The Indian nurses were arrested after a security check in a famous clinic in Kuwait city. Indian Embassy in Kuwait, Indian Minister of state for external Affairs V Muraleedharan were intervened for the release of those Indian nurses.
