കുവൈത്ത് സിറ്റി: ഈ വർഷം രണ്ടാം പാദത്തിൽ 913 പ്രവാസികളുടെ ഡ്രൈവിംഗ് ലൈസൻസുകൾ ട്രാഫിക് വകുപ്പ് സസ്പെൻഡ് ചെയ്തു. വിവിധ നിയമലംഘനങ്ങൾ നടത്തിയതിനാണ് സസ്‌പെൻഷൻ. മൂന്ന് മാസം മുതൽ ഒരു വർഷം വരെ ലൈസൻസുകൾ സസ്പെൻഡ് ചെയ്യുകയും ചില കേസുകളിൽ സ്ഥിരം റദ്ദാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതാണ് നടപടിയെന്ന് അധികൃതർ വിശദീകരിച്ചു. ഫോൺ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് ഗുരുതരമായ ലംഘനമാണെന്നും രണ്ട് പെനാൽറ്റി പോയിന്റുകളും ചുവന്ന ലൈറ്റ് മുറിച്ചുകടക്കുന്നതിനോ അമിത വേഗതയിൽ വാഹനമോടിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്താൽ നാല് പോയിന്റുകളും ചുമത്തപ്പെടും.

14 പെനാൽറ്റി പോയിന്റുള്ളവർക്കാണ് ആദ്യ സസ്പെൻഷൻ ലഭിക്കുക. മൂന്ന് മാസത്തേക്ക് ലൈസൻസ് പിൻവലക്കപ്പെടും. വീണ്ടും നിയമലംഘനങ്ങൾ ആവർത്തിച്ച് 12 പോയിന്റുകൾ കൂടെ വന്നാൽ ആറ് മാസത്തേക്ക് ലൈസൻസ് സസ്പെൻഡ് ചെയ്യും. ഇതിന് ശേഷം പത്ത് പോയിന്റുകൾ വന്നാൽ ഒമ്പത് മാസത്തേക്ക് ലൈസൻസ് സസ്പെൻഷൻ ലഭിക്കും. ആറ് പോയിന്റുകൾ കൂടെ വന്നാൽ രു വർഷത്തേക്കാണ് സസ്പെൻഷൻ. അഞ്ച് പോയിന്റുകൾ കൂടെ വന്നാൽ ലൈസൻസ് റദ്ദാക്കപ്പെടുമെന്നും അധികൃതർ അറിയിച്ചു.


913 Kuwaiti expats' driving licenses suspended; For those with 14 penalty points


Kuwait City: In the second quarter of this year, the traffic department suspended the driving licenses of 913 expatriates. The suspension is for various violations. Officials explained that the measure involves suspension of licenses for three months to one year and in some cases permanent cancellation. Using a phone is a serious offence, with two penalty points and four points for crossing a red light or speeding.

Those with 14 penalty points will receive the first suspension. The license will be revoked for a period of three months. Repeated violations with 12 points will result in suspension of license for six months. Ten points after this will result in license suspension for nine months. If six points are added, the suspension will be for two years. Officials also informed that if five points are added, the license will be cancelled.
