Kuwait City: The authorities are extorting money by spreading a ransomware link called a video of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. This was informed by the Chairman of Kuwait Electronic Media Cyber Security Committee, Muhammad Al Rashid. Reports are coming out that many companies in the country have become victims of this virus. The scam method is to encrypt all the files once the link is opened and demand money in exchange for decrypting this encryption.
Security officials also said that the method of hackers is to create fake links to watch videos of earthquakes with the aim of encrypting files. Give 24 hours time limit to pay after being hacked. In case of non-payment personal files or company files will be completely destroyed. However, even if the money is paid, there is no guarantee that the files will be returned, officials said.
