Kuwait City: The Ministry of Commerce has organized a special program to educate customers about the things to be aware of when renting a car from rent a car companies in Kuwait. A joint committee has also been formed to ensure that rent-a-car firms comply with the rules. Awareness programs are organized through social media. The campaign started on Twitter with the hashtag #You_have_the_right_to. The Ministry clarifies what things customers should know while renting a car. A person should not be allowed to rent a vehicle for a limited number of days or a fixed number of days. Don't force the customer to change hands on the leased vehicle within the specified days or not agree to take them back before the specified days. The customer shall not be liable to pay the daily rental for the period of repair of the car in case of any kind of damage to the car by the hirer during its use. The Ministry explains that it is against the law to force the customer to sign any other papers or checks other than the rental carer. Along with this, the ministry also said that strict legal action will be taken against the establishments that refuse to provide services to the customers. There will be measures to close the office of such institutions and cancel the commercial license. The ministry also stated that complaints can be made against establishments violating the law at the nearest consumer protection center or by calling 135 or through WhatsApp number 55135135.
