KUWAIT CITY: As the country faces a domestic labor shortage crisis, citizens are caught up in scams related to the sector. Hundreds of complaints and cases have been registered with the Manpower Authority. In this situation, some establishments were quickly closed down and their licenses revoked. The Manpower Authority took legal action against domestic labor offices that did not provide domestic workers after the expiry of the period stipulated in the contracts in Farwania.

The offices which faced the action were closed for three months as they did not respond to the domestic labor department's request in this regard. The commerce ministry also canceled their license. Sources said that many complaints have been registered against the offices for taking extra money from citizens in lieu of bringing in a domestic worker for less.
