The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has seized nine violating stalls at the Friday Market in the Al-Rai area for selling counterfeit goods bearing fake international trademarks during an inspection campaign carried out by ministry teams.

Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Commercial Control Department at the ministry, said the campaign was led by Acting Head of the Al-Rai Center Faraj Muhammad Al-Jafira and commercial inspector Ali Al-Owaihan.

Al-Ansari stated that authorities recorded nine violation reports related to the sale of counterfeit products and confiscated 1,430 items, including bags, shoes and T-shirts carrying fake international brands.

He added that the necessary legal measures were taken against the violators, who have been referred to the Commercial Prosecution.

Al-Ansari stressed that the ministry’s inspection campaigns continue throughout the week, including weekends, as part of ongoing efforts to protect intellectual property rights, combat commercial fraud and regulate the markets.
