The Ministry of Interior announced the extension of all types of expired or soon-to-expire entry visit visas for a period of one month, starting from Saturday, February 28, 2026, in light of the exceptional circumstances the country is currently experiencing.

In a statement, the Ministry said the extension will be processed automatically through the electronic system without the need to visit residency affairs departments. It added that beneficiaries will be fully exempted from any prescribed fees or fines incurred during this period, in appreciation of the current situation.

The Ministry also announced that residents who are currently outside the country and have exceeded the permitted period of absence — and are unable to return to the State of Kuwait — will be granted an automatic leave of absence for three months. The measure will likewise be implemented through the automated system without requiring in-person review, along with exemption from applicable fees.

The Ministry confirmed that the announced periods remain subject to further extension depending on developments in the country.
