The Civil Service Bureau announced on Thursday that the official working hours of government agencies during the holy month of Ramadan will be in a flexible working system, provided that the working hours are four and a half hours.

In a press release, the NAO said that it had previously issued its external decision No. (1) of 2024 regarding setting the official working hours in government agencies during the holy month of Ramadan every year on the flexible working system, and this external decision included the dates, rules and provisions applicable in this regard.

He explained that the start of work in the month of Ramadan is from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., indicating that there is the possibility of the government entity setting specific dates for working hours at the beginning and end of work according to the interest of the work.

He stressed on government agencies to continue to adhere to the same mechanism as stipulated in the Civil Service Council's decision on the rules, provisions and controls of official work.

Regarding the official working hours in government agencies in the evening period, the NAO stated that it will be four and a half hours, including a grace period of 15 minutes at the beginning of work, in addition to the grace period for females at the end of work of 15 minutes.

He stressed the need for government agencies to take into account that the start of the official working hours in the evening period during the holy month of Ramadan should not be before 6:45 p.m.
