IT Server & System Administration Specialist

Alzad for Financial and Economic Consulting Company (KSCC) - Kuwait

We are looking for an IT Server and System Administration Specialist to join ZAD's Information Technology team in Kuwait. This is a hands-on role that sits at the heart of ZAD's operations, keeping our cloud infrastructure, end-point devices, and internal systems running securely and reliably across all our locations.

You will be the primary technical owner of ZAD's IT environment, supporting a growing team of over 60 professionals across Kuwait, and Europe. In a regulated fintech environment, uptime, security, and compliance are not optional, and neither is the ability to work independently and own your domain.

What You Will Do
Infrastructure and Systems
- Administer and maintain ZAD's cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS), ensuring availability, performance, and security across all environments.
- Manage Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, and identity and access management.
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, and switches.
- Oversee endpoint device management across Kuwait, UAE, and remote staff in EU using MDM solutions.

Information Security
- Implement and enforce ZAD's IT security policies, manage user access controls, and ensure adherence to the principle of least privilege.
- Monitor systems for security threats, investigate incidents, and coordinate response and resolution.
- Support IT audit and compliance requirements in line with CMA regulatory obligations.
- Maintain software license compliance and manage vendor security obligations.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
- Own ZAD's IT business continuity and disaster recovery plan, including regular testing and updates.
- Ensure backup systems are operational, tested, and aligned to ZAD's recovery time objectives.
- Respond to and resolve critical incidents with urgency and clear communication to management.

IT Service Management
- Manage ZAD's IT help desk and ticketing system, prioritizing and resolving staff requests within agreed SLAs.
- Provide support to staff across Kuwait, UAE, and EU, handling issues remotely where needed.
- Onboard and offboard employees in line with HR-led workflows, including device provisioning, account creation, and access management.
- Document systems, configurations, and procedures to maintain an accurate and current IT knowledge base.

Vendor and SaaS Management
- Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
- Maintain ZAD's SaaS subscription inventory, track renewals, and ensure license compliance.
- Evaluate and onboard new tools in coordination with business and product teams.

What We Are Looking For
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in server and system administration.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity management.
- Solid understanding of Windows Server and Linux administration.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity and access management.
- Familiarity with network administration including VPNs, firewalls, and switches.
- Experience managing end-point devices using MDM solutions such as Microsoft Intune.
- Strong information security awareness and practical experience implementing access controls and responding to incidents.
- Experience providing IT support across multiple locations or remote teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and own issues through to resolution.
- Strong communication skills in Arabic and English

Preferred
- Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104 (Azure Administrator) or equivalent
- CompTIA Security+ or similar security certification.
- Experience in a regulated financial services or fintech environment is preferred.
- Exposure to IT audit and compliance requirements.
- Experience with IT service management tools such as Jira Service Management.
