Senior Accountant (Cost Accounting Responsibilities)

Role Summary-
The Senior Accountant (Cost Accounting Responsibilities) is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling costs related to the company's manufacturing, maintenance, service projects, and spare parts sales. The role involves preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, managing cost structures, and ensuring accurate cost allocation for improved financial performance. Additionally, the position includes supporting cash flow forecasting for new projects, supporting budgeting efforts, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies-
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing, maintenance, and project-based cost accounting.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, financial modeling, and cost analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

Key Responsibilities
1. Costing & Budget Control
• Prepare job / project cost sheets for fabrication, installation, and maintenance works
• Monitor actual cost vs budgeted cost for projects and production
• Identify cost overruns and suggest cost-saving measures
2. Material & Inventory Cost Control
• Track raw materials, spare parts, consumables, and tools


• Coordinate with procurement & store for material costing
• Verify material issues, returns, and wastage
• Conduct inventory valuation and stock audits
3. Labor & Overhead Costing
• Calculate direct labor cost (man-hours, overtime, productivity)
• Allocate factory overheads (power, depreciation, maintenance, utilities)
• Analyze machine hour rates and production efficiency
4. Job / Project Costing
• Maintain job-wise costing for mechanical projects
• Prepare cost reports for completed and ongoing jobs
• Support billing & progress invoicing with cost data
5. Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare monthly cost reports, variance analysis, and MIS
• Assist in profitability analysis by project or department
• Support management decision-making with cost insights
