Job Description
Provide accurate and timely legal advice to Business Directors, General Managers, and other staff on all corporate matters and law that impacts, or may impact, on the Company. Support Management in the identification and management of legal risks, providing timely advise and carrying out their corporate governance and regulatory compliance responsibilities.
Strategic:
Prepare annual plans and budgets to meet the BU / Dept strategic objectives of the Company.

Monitor implementation of the annual plans and measure achievements of results against budgets and objectives and take corrective measures as appropriate.

Operational:
Draft contracts, such as commercial, financial and consultancy with principals, employees and financial institutions in order to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and protect the Group’s interests and assist in contract negotiations.

Review new contracts and agency agreements in a timely manner.

Provide legal and policy advice and analysis to the various department/business units to ensure the accuracy of the analysis and application of law and policy related to commercial, financial and consultancy matters, service level agreements, outsourcing, data protection, and others.

Recommend new and updates of policies related to commercial, financial and consultancy matters to ensure compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.

Recommend the arrangements for outsourced legal advice.

Evaluate and advise on the impact of new regulatory actions, such new laws and regulations, provide factual legal analyses; write reports, assessments and recommendations to management to ensure full compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.

Provide technical assistance, litigation support, legal research and other legal support in carrying out concrete legal interventions.

Maintain knowledge of developments, trends and best practices in the area of legal advice, new laws and regulations, jurisprudence, etc…

Provides substantive direction, guidance and coaching to legal specialists handling administrative law issues.

Supports the Manager in matters pertaining to overall policy and strategic issues pertaining to the Administrative Law practice area.

People Management:
Identify, set and agree on KPIs and objectives.

Prepare performance planning (PP), conduct performance appraisal (PA) and PP/PA interviews including employee development plans and counsel employees on career progression opportunities and approve training requests.

Recommend employee promotions, salary adjustments, disciplinary actions and approve vacation and overtime.

Identify staffing needs, participate in interviewing panels and take hiring decisions.

Maintain and promote staff motivation by addressing employee grievances promptly and escalating when necessary and enforcing fair and equitable compliance with Group policies and procedures.

Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports and presentations.
Document and maintain records of activities and process workflows on internal communication portals.

Adhere to Group policies and health and safety regulations.

Perform other duties as requested by management.
